NBTC Rules and
Guidelines
Rules are a drag, but this is
a list of frequently asked questions and guides for being in a show. Any
questions that are not answered here can be directed to
angela.lackey@gmail.com.
Below is a list of responsibilities and expectations that we have of our
casts. Most are universal to theatre and some are specific to us.
Please read and let me know if you have any questions. This will also be
posted on our website. All words in italics will have a definition at
the end of the page.
We will...
...provide you with all materials necessary to learn your lines and
songs.
...provide you with a schedule (based on your conflicts) that will make
the best use of your time possible.
Please note that all cast and crew will be required at tech
rehearsals though they may not work the entire
time. Make plans to bring books, homework or video games/ipod to
have quiet play at this time.
...include in this schedule what we will be rehearsing so you can be
prepared for that day.
...post all information on our website and keep it all updated for your
convenience.
...provide you with a costume needs list by the second week of rehearsal
so you can help get your costumes
together.
...arrive at least 15 minutes before rehearsal and stay 15 minutes after
rehearsal to answer any questions you may have.
--We will not replace a lost script; if your script is lost you are
responsible for finding a way to replace it.
You will...
...provide me with a list of conflicts no later than the first meeting
date so I may plan rehearsals.
...read through the scenes or songs on the schedule for each day before
attending rehearsal.
...wear comfortable clothing and shoes to all rehearsals. You will not
wear flip flops or slip on shoes or bare feet.
...be responsible for acquiring, altering and maintaining your own (or
your child’s) costume for performances.
If you do not wish to keep your costume you do not have to pay for it,
but you will be required to get purchases approved and provide a receipt
for reimbursement.
In the case that your costume is very specific or requires specialty
crafting, we will order, rent, create or find someone to create the
costume for you.
All cast members should be prepared to provide underclothes, undershirts
(for men), panty hose (for women) if necessary for costume. You will not cut your hair, or change your appearance drastically
in any way once you are cast unless you are granted permission from
director or costume coordinator.
...be at rehearsal exactly at the time of call on your schedule sheet.
...call my phone 830-708-6736 the moment you know you will be late or
unable to attend rehearsal on any given day.
...be allowed 2 last minute absences. Any cast member exceeding this
limit will be removed from dances or scenes and may be cut completely
from the show. More than one no call-no show will be interpreted as an
intentional drop and we will proceed without you.
...be at all tech rehearsals (specified on schedule).
Please note that all cast and crew will be required at tech rehearsals
though they may not work the entire time. Make plans to bring books,
homework or video games/ipod to have quiet play at this time
...keep any space that we use as clean as possible.
In addition to scheduled rehearsals, you will attend one work day, one
outside public relations appearance, photo call (to be scheduled) and
strike.
